Delft Urn Painting

I took inspiration from vintage delft tiles and a smattering of regency when painting this piece! Featuring an ornate urn vase holding Dehlia blooms and a recreation of crackle glazed tiles. The frame has been repurposed, painted with gently distressed French Yellow, backed with scrap William Morris wallpaper and signed. Measuring approx 24cm x 19cm, including the frame. Signed on the back.

 

Reverse painting on glass is an art form consisting of applying paint to a piece of glass and then viewing the image by turning the glass over and looking through the glass at the image. I've added my own twist by applying mixed media, such as paper and gold leaf.
